As our costumes are filtering in, our teachers will be working on getting the samples in the office ASAP so parents may begin the rhinestoning process !!!! (Or adding on sequin trim, or bows, or any additions that the teacher has made ) Please remember as this begins, that SAMPLES are actually someones costume and need to be handled with care & nothing can be LOST from the sample. Samples are to stay IN THE OFFICE.**IF YOU STONE AT THE STUDIO – PLEASE make sure a blanket or something is down if you are going to sit on a studio floor (to protect our dance floors)As costumes come in we will be working on our Costume Detail sheets. **I suggest getting any new shoes NOW so they can get broken in **We know we will all need :the Carmel tights (Capezio Hold & Stretch) , Carmel split sole Capezio shoes, Black Capezio split sole shoe, Students in LYRICAL will be advised as to if ANY shoes will be worn ( the pirouette will only be an option if the teacher makes the decision for the class, then everyone will need to have them), CLEAR BACK bras (you can find them online / eBay) , Get some sets of CLEAR bra straps from walmart or target for any costumes that have the "nude" strap. All will need the company appliqué , choker, earrings.SPACING REHEARSAL will be on Saturday, March 7 beginning promptly at 8:00am and will go till 8:00 pm ! We will be using the Shawnee Mission WEST auditorium. The schedule will be set up for group dances, then duets/trios, then solos. I cannot take requests for this day !Dancers will wear BLACK dance wear & have all appropriate shoes/props/etc….Dancers and parents may observe in the audience seating area. WE ONLY RENT the auditorium so we may NOT wonder around the school. Any siblings accompanying on this day will need to be seated in the audience . Tess will be sending invoices for Spacing rehearsal fees (these fees are per dance & are used to cover rental of facility, supervisors, teachers pay, insurance, technicians, etc…) INVOICES ARE IN THE OFFICE for Pick up (if not picked up Sunday, they will be mailed out Monday)COSTUME Days -Friday, March 5 AND Sunday March 8 – We will have all competing dances wear costumes to studio & will go over each costume with the instructor so all are done exactly the same !!! THIS is CRUCIAL. After judging this weekend, I cannot tell you the number of judges that are very critical about costumes and appearance (HAIR BEING SLICKED & RE-DONE so it looks good for EVERY dance AND straps not being sewn or tags not being cut out or different shoes…… )PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL COSTUMES ARE DONE by COSTUME DAY. STUDENTS WILL ACTUALLY DANCE IN THEIR COSTUMES to make sure straps are secure & we have NO problems with any part of a costume (hem lines the same / how to wear accessories, etc..)***Miss Liz will plan to do Solos/ Duets/ Trios on FRIDAY, March 5 !!!**THANK YOU IN ADVANCELiz
