FROM MASQUERADE to all AUDIENCE PATRONS

Masquerade does not allow photo or video of any kind in the auditorium during the performances.   Parents are welcome to take photos during the awards ceremony or in the lobby.

I have always had VERY strong feelings in regards to this policy.

I have always felt that we can not possibly police an entire audience during a competition.   There are costume mishaps and things we all know happen on stage we do not want caught on camera.  I can control what is put out when we have an authorized vendor.  We can monitor shots and video and make sure that everything is acceptable. This has an always will be my first priority and I will not tolerate parents not obeying this rules.   With the exposure the show “Dance Moms” has brought our industry, it concerns me even more that our competitions may attract people of question that it may not have in the past and I feel even stronger that we need to be more vigilant in regards to who is allowed to take photos and videos of your children.

Please pass this information along to your parents.   Dances will be disqualified and points deducted.  Please help us in enforcing this rule. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
