This is hard to determine which is why Dance competitions normally book a week for Nationals.  IF they have MANY entrees, the competition could start on Sunday, June 28 .  What will they start with ? I have NO idea.  If they have 400 senior solos, then maybe senior solos, IF they have 100 junior duets/trios, then many Jr duet trios.  

In the past we have started competing on Sunday of the competition week, and some  dancers in group dances only didn't start until Wednesday of that week.

Most likely we will have our rehearsal for group dances on Monday June 29th (as long as we are not competing by then)

I cannot forecast what this year will be like for Nationals.  You can book something then cancel if you don't need the whole time (if thats allowed where you are staying) OR you can risk finding a place later when we might know a schedule.  But usually we don't get a Nationals schedule until about 10 days prior. 

What is Parade of Stars & Dancer of the Year?

Parade of Stars are dancers chosen at the Masquerade Regional competition in STL, that will be in the opening number at Finals in Fort Walton.  Students can be chosen from a solo , duet, trio or group dance.  They announce these Parade of Stars dancers at the awards ceremonies.

Dancer of the Year – This is a competition that any dancer can try out for.  It entails taking dance classes at the Nationals auditorium for approximately 4 days.  The judges teach the classes & give feedback.  Then one dancer in each division (petite, jr, teen, sr) are awarded Dancer of the Year on finals night.  We have had a few students from LE Dance win this honor in the past. 

Classes normally begin on Saturday evening of July 27 (first night). 

How do I find someone to room with ?

Reach out to your line rep and let them know you'd like to room with another mom & daughter !  Thats the easiest.  OR if you know someone simply ask if they are interested in sharing a room !
