At National we need to LOOK PROFESSIONAL – No one will be allowed to go on stage with a hole in fishnets, or a run in a tight / SAFETY PINNED CHOKERS look terrible on stage, but a new one with a closure if you have one like this ! / OUR goal is to look professional and EXACTLY the same (not close to the same / EXACTLY )
I'm not traveling to FLORIDA to be "sort of" ready – FULLY READY in appearance as well as performance.
COSTUMES- Need to be repaired if they are torn, or need a new closure, sew up a hole on a seam, etc…..
Replace missing rhinestones –
STEAM ANYTHING WRINKLED BEFORE GOING ON STAGE !!!! –
Make sure you have ALL COMPONENTS to EVERY costume (gloves, hats, tights, socks, shoes, hair piece, mask, prop, bra , booty short……..)
SHOES:

POLISH ALL TAP SHOES – required
Replace all missing rhinestones on tap shoes – required

All jazz shoes need to look "new" (NO HOLES, and CLEAN them)

Add clips or get correct Bobby pins for all hairpieces
Hairpieces neet to ALL be worn on the same side of the head (FIND the costume detail sheets so again, WE ARE UNIFORM in appearance)
TIGHTS:
NO HOLES – NONE – they won't go on stage with a hole or a run. HAVE a back up pair for every type of tight.
BUY- Extra bobby pins, hair elastics, gel, hair spray, safety pins
IF YOU NEED A NEW CHOKER – get one
IF YOU NEED NEW EARRINGS – get them
IF you need new lip glitter – get it
100% prepared – DO NOT LEAVE IT ALL UP TO A CHILD (anyone under the age of 18) They should be part of the process, but "together", everything should be checked and fixed/ repaired/ bought/ etc……
DURING NATIONALS:
When dancers have to perform, DO NOT plan a day for visiting an amusement place, or being in the sun all day. THE DANCERS NEED TO BE RESTED, and ready to perform, NOT tired or sun burned, and dehydrated !
ALSO, dancers are to be in bed EARLY when they have to perform EARLY. No late nights.
DANCERS are to be READY TO GO – ONE FULL HOUR BEFORE DESIGNATED TIME for the LE Dance performance.
SO , if it says "Emergency" 10:40am, then EVERY dancer in EMERGENCY needs to be FULLY ready to go onstage at 9:40am. (in costume, hair, make up, accessories, shoes……..) Dancers should not be stressed because someone in their group is LATE . THIS is WHY we are in FLORIDA. BE respectful of the team, teachers, and your child by being EARLY !
Healthy snacks, and water to keep energy throughout the competition.
LETS BE SUPPORTIVE BY coming to cheer on our dancers. Be in the audience to cheer for EVERY group of LE DANCERS!!!!!!
**Don't forget about your BIG & LITTLE SISTERS. Be there for them & wish them luck !
KEEP track of your child. Know where they are at ALL TIMES. Seriously.!
ABSOLUTELY NO VIDEO OR PHOTOGRAPHY during any performance !
FRIDAY, JULY 1 is the ENCORE of all ENCORES – We have to be prepared for any announcement of ENCORE so we know if we get into the big show down. After all the festivities on FRIDAY, you are free to begin your drive home, or enjoy some beach time 🙂
We look forward to a GREAT competition in Florida. The dancers & teachers have worked very hard these past few weeks getting prepared. – We are ready & LOVE to hear your applause, shouts, congrats during & after performances. Thanks for supporting OUR LE DANCE family !!!!!
SHOW your LE DANCE SPIRIT by making signs, bring flags, red & black pom poms, etc……. Wear your LE Dance Spirit wear – and make sure all dancers have their COMPANY jackets. They must have them for awards ceremonies!
MOST APPRECIATIVE TO ALL,
Liz
